I made beef stew last night, not exactly the Chinese style, cause I added many sorts of chopped vegetables into it. I used shank. Stewing is a very easy cooking process. First, the chunks of beef were browned on all sides in a large pot. Chopped vegetables, including carrots, onions, celery and potatoes were added and quickly seared. Then spices and a generous quantity of water were added(my one more secret: 滷包) After the liquid had been brought to a boil, the heat was turned down. Less than an hour, a delicious dish was enjoyed by me, yum~yum~
