多數指 狀況 而非行為
背誦口訣: 現在的狀況多
Ex: 我不喜歡莎士比亞
I do not like Shakespeare.
Ex: 他愛他的太太
He loves his wife. (萬一老婆多就用wives)
註:另外凡是真理.自然界現象.數學原理等皆為現代式
EX:太陽由東方升起 The sun rises in the east.
Ex:地球是圓的 The earth is round.
Ex:月亮是地球的一各衛星 The moon is a satellite of the earth.
Ex:在北極的夏天太陽永不落下
The sun never sets at the North Pole in summer.
Ex: 他正在讀一本偵探小說 He is reading a detective novel.
Ex: 他正在看電視 He is watching TV.
Ex: 她們現在都正在吃飯 They are all eating now.

複合測試: 有的句子是現在式有的是現在進行式
1.我愛你 I love you.(現在式) Love 是種狀態而非動作 ~~
2.她們正在唱歌 They are singing.(動作~~現在進行式)
3.我是一各老師 I am a teacher. (狀況而非動作)
4.你的姐姐在騎腳踏車 Your elder sister is riding her bicycle now.
5.我正在洗澡 I am taking a bath.
過去式
簡單說就是: 過去已經發生的事
先擺放錯誤時態
Ex: I go to school yesterday.(X)
Ex: My mother comes to see me last month.(X)
正確應為
Ex: I went to school yesterday. (X)
Ex: My mother came to see me last month.(X)
過去進行式
過去Verb 動詞+ V-ing
簡單說過去進行式和現在進行式很類似只差異在時態
但重點是過去進行式比較少單獨使用通常都和另一句子一起用也因此通常句子會出現一句是過去式另一句是過去進行式~~
Ex:當火車停下的時候他正在看報
He was reading a newspaper when the train stopped.
Ex:當我爸爸打電話給我的時候我正在刷牙
I was brushing my teeth when my father called me.
Ex: 當這隻貓走進來的時候這隻狗正在睡覺
That dog was sleeping when the cat came in
