Some people just seem to have all the luck. Maybe your best friend landed a handsome husband or your little brother just got a huge promotion. While you may enjoy your life, maybe you wish a little bit of that good luck would come your way. Whether or not you seriously believe in the idea of luck, good fortune or karma, you can take control of your own life and help more good things to happen you.
.Make wise choices. While it may seem like simple advice, remember that foolish decisions often result in negative long-term consequences. For example, if you constantly rush into new purchases without regard for your financial situation, you may soon end up with unmanageable debt. If you spend your time partying or staying out too late, you might not be able to get up in time for work. As a result, you could lose your job. Try to consider the outcomes of your choices, before you make a decision.
.Set reasonable goals. If you try to achieve something impossible, you will likely fail. While long-term dreaming is important, you should also try to set short-term simple goals that you can reach. For example, you might not be able to pay for your sister to go to college, but you can likely help her buy her textbooks. You might not be able to get a job as an actress right away, but you can work in the drama department at a local college.
.Surround yourself with kind, caring, compassionate and loyal friends. If your friends are mean, picky and irritable, they will likely try to tear you down instead of build you up. Choose your friends with caution. Remember that your peers have a huge influence over your life, even if you don t realize it. Choosing good friends will increase the odds of good things happening to you.
.Take chances. While it s probably not a good idea to quit your job for a better one you haven t landed yet, you should take chances when you can. You never know when something good might happen as a result of your bravery and courage. Don t be afraid to interview for a new position, give someone your business card or ask that cute guy out for coffee. The worst they can say is "no." |
